Obituary

Richard W. Rydzewski, 62, of Crystal Falls, passed away Friday, September 6, 2013, at Oscar G. Johnson VA Medical Center, Iron Mountain. He was born January 21, 1951, in Rhinelander, Wis., son of the late Edwin and Ruby (Martalock) Rydzewski. Richard graduated from Three Lakes High School and was awarded a football scholarship to the University of Wisconsin Steven's Point where he went on to attend college. He enlisted in the United States Army where he was stationed in Germany. After being honorably discharged, Richard went back to attend school at UW Steven's Point. Richard moved to Milwaukee where he worked for A.O. Smith Car Frame Manufacturing Co. for a few years. He then became a mail carrier for the US Postal Service in Milwaukee, where he worked for over 30 years. In 2008, Richard moved to Crystal Falls. He enjoyed trout fishing, prospecting, and studying minerals. Richard is survived by two brothers, Robert Rydzewski, Trout Creek, Mich., Roger Rydzewski, Cecil, Wis.; one sister, Kathy Pittman, Kenton, Mich.; many nieces and nephews. The visitation will be Saturday, September 14, 2013, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. (EST) at the Trombley-Pulkas Post No. 494 American Legion Hall, Trout Creek. The memorial service will be 11:00 a.m. (EST), Saturday at the hall. Rev. Raymond Valerio will officiate. Burial will be in Agate Cemetery. The Ontonagon County Veteran's Association will accord military honors at graveside.
