Wausaukee-Richard K. Rhodes Jr., age 63, of Wausaukee, Wis., passed away Friday, July 6, 2018, at the Oscar G. Johnson VA Medical Center, Iron Mountain, Mich.

He was born January 14, 1955, in Norway, Mich., son of the late Richard and Margaret (Hatton) Rhodes Sr. Richard grew up in Amberg, Wisc. and was a graduate of Wausaukee High School, Class of 1973. He went on to receive his technical degree as a diesel mechanic. Richard worked as a diesel mechanic for Smeester Brothers for 7 years. He then proudly served in the United States Army. After being honorably discharged Richard owned and operated Hwy 180 Trucking in Wausaukee, Wis. for a few years. He then worked as a diesel mechanic in Southern Wisconsin for several businesses.

Richard enjoyed motorcycle riding, sciences projects, and playing practical jokes on others.

Survivors include one brother, Daniel Rhodes, Amberg, Wis.; four sisters, Linda (Frank) Hogan-Stream, Wausaukee, Wis., Suzan (William) Schlies, Wausaukee, Wis., Heather (David) Schramm, Amberg, Wis. and Annette (Dave) Grube, Amberg, Wis., and by many nieces and nephews.

A military graveside service will be held Saturday, August 4, 2018, 11:00 a.m., at Amberg Cemetery, Amberg, Wis. Rev. Agnes Brady will officiate. The Mullany-McTrusty American Legion Post #428, Amberg, Wis. will accord military honors at graveside.
