Obituary

Fern- Richard J. Printz, age 67, of Fern, Wis., passed away Thursday, October 31, 2019, at Iron County Medical Care Facility, Crystal Falls, Mich. He was born February 1, 1952, in Crystal Falls, Mich., son of the late Patrick and Rena (Hollands) Printz. Richard grew up in Florence and was a graduate of Florence High School, class of 1970. He also attended Electrical Schooling in Massachusetts. Richard had worked for a short time at a car lot, plumbing company and doing road paving. He worked in both Lower Michigan and Indiana for Coachman Electrical and Plumbing, a foreman on motor homes. In the early 70's he worked as a lineman for 5 years with Florence Utility, and then Grede Foundry for 6 years as an electrician and then general foreman of maintenance. His work with Grede took him to Kansas. Richard later moved to Milwaukee in 1980 until 2000 before moving back to Florence. He enjoyed hunting, fishing and watching football. Most of all Richard enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Survivors include his daughter, Heather (Tony) Patla, California; two stepdaughters, Paula Krause, Goodman, Wis., and Kelly (Richie) Trott, Milwaukee, Wis.; one brother, Robert (Christine) Printz, Florence, Wis.; one sister, Betty Bock, Aurora, Wis.; and by seven grandchildren. In addition to his parents, Richard was preceded in death by one brother, Patrick Printz and by an infant sister. In accordance with Richard's wishes, private family services will be held.
