Obituary

Richard R. Moore, 66, of Iron Mountain, passed away Wednesday, October 15, 2014, at his home. He was born October 28, 1947, in New Port, Mich., son of the late Carl and Margaret (Straetz) Moore. Rich grew up in Tomah, Wis., and graduated from Tomah High School, Class of 1966. He served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War and upon being discharged from the service he resided in Aurora, Wis. Rich had two prior marriages, Sandra Hall and Diane Cramer. On November 21, 1995, he married Peggy Bryngelson in Iron Mountain. He worked for Grede Foundry in Iron Mountain, Kansas and Texas for over 10 years. Rich worked for Eagle Tool Company as a machinist for 20 years and then opened Moore's Garage in Aurora and after five years, retired. Rich was a very active veteran serving as past commander of the American Legion Uren-Cooper-Johnson Post No. 50, Iron Mountain and the VFW Post No. 3674, Iron Mountain. He enjoyed fishing, camping, boating, gardening, bird watching, the outdoors and spent many years volunteering as a youth wrestling coach. He is survived by his wife, Peggy; five sons, Dion (Ann) Moore, Green Bay, Wis., BeJae (Lindsey) Moore, Iron Mountain, Ron (Crystal) Branback, Niagara, Wis., Wayne Branback, Quinnesec, Mich. and Brandon (Carrie) Branback, Quinnesec; three daughters, Terri Moore, Green Bay, Robin (Gary) Lockstein, Green Bay and Christy (Lonnie) Branback, Iron Mountain; four brothers, James (Louise) Winkler, Carl "Butch" Moore, Ariz., David Erdman, Aurora and Al (Jackie) Moore, Aurora; five sisters, Sandra (Ken) Mrotek, Oconomowoc, Wis., Donna (Domenic) Rappa, Aurora, Carol (Danny) Bionne, Tex., Patricia (Mark) Priessner, Appleton, Wis. and Linda (Fuzzy) LeQuia, Felch; fifteen grandchildren, Corey, Chris, Caleb, Ava, Mercedes, Liberty, Monty, Celina, Michael, Summer Lynn, Cailyn, TJ, Nautica, Kiaya and Cody; seven great-grandchildren, numerous nieces and nephews and his dog Zeus. Visitation will be Wednesday, October 22, 2014, from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at the Jacobs Funeral Home, Iron Mountain. The American Legion Post No. 50 will accord Military Honors Wednesday, 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. A Celebration of Life Service will be held Wednesday, following the American Legion Service, at the funeral home. The family has chosen the Jacobs Funeral Home, Iron Mountain to honor Rich's Legacy of Life.
