Crystal Falls:
Richard (Richie) Johnson, age 73, of Alpha, Michigan, died Tuesday, July 20, 2004, at the Iron County Medical Care Facility.
He was born March 25, 1931, in Crystal Falls, MI, son of the late Hugo and Caroline (Rondon) Johnson. He was a resident of Crystal Falls for many years until he met his loving wife Patricia (Krause) Green and moved to Alpha, MI. She preceded him in death on March 5, 1992. Richie worked many years as a logger, working for Sam Hulko and his cousin Roger Grandahl. He was an active member of the National Rifle Association, North American Hunting Club (NAHC) and Alpha Gun Club. Richie lived and loved to hunt, fish and "go to camp". He took much pride in building the recent family camp. That was his paradise! He loved to tell his hunting and fishing stories and took the time to teach others the secret of success. Richie was quite the cook- famous for his minestrone and bouilla. He will always be remembered by his unique sense of humor- TO KNOW HIM WAS TO LOVE HIM.
