Richard "Richie" Dean Jackson, 68, of Crystal Falls, Mich., passed away Sunday, July 8, 2007, at his home. He was born January 23, 1939, in Crystal Falls, son of the late Irving E. and Audrey (Frazier) Jackson. Richard was a lifelong resident of the area and attended Crystal Falls High School. Richard worked many years at the Amasa Mill, until he suffered a severe head injury. He then worked from 1978 to 1988 at the Crystal Falls Courthouse as a custodian. Richard received a special commendation for his excellent and outstanding workmanship, and a special brick was placed in the Courthouse Memorial Park in Richard's honor. He is survived by two daughters, Charlene and Arletta Jackson; two grandsons, Joe and Mike; two sisters, Barbara (Jack) Rodgers, Grants Pass, OR, Kathy (Vic) Koivisto, Ironwood, Mich.; and numerous other relatives. Besides his parents, Richard was preceded in death by one sister, Joyce Grismer. Private family services were held. Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery, Crystal Falls. Richard was a quiet, kind, and caring man, and he will be sadly missed by his family and friends. God has taken him home and he is finally free from all his pain.
