Richard Charles "Gokie" Gauthier, 69, of Kingsford, passed away Wednesday, July 23, 2008, at St. Vincent Hospital, Green Bay, Wis. He was born April 1, 1939, in Iron Mountain, son of the late Edward and Arlene (McClure) Gauthier. Richard was a life-long resident of Iron Mountain and graduated from Iron Mountain High School in 1957. He married the former Carol Johnson on June 17, 1961. Richard was the President of Ed Gauthier and Sons from 1948 until present. He was a life-long member of the Elks Lodge, a member of the Knights of Columbus, the Chippewa Club, and also a life-long member of the International Union of Operating Engineers. His work was his passion, he also enjoyed watching NASCAR and loved spending time with his family. He is survived by his wife, Carol; three daughters, Michele (Jim) Skoglund, Appleton, Wis., Roxanne (Glen) Church, Aurora, Wis., Kris (Rob) Lindstrom, DePere, Wis.; six grandchildren, Kirsten and Luke Skoglund, Sami and Glenn Church, Emily and Tony Lindstrom; brother, Arthur (Lorraine) Gauthier, Sun City, Ariz.; two brothers-in-law, Harvey (Margaret) Johnson, Spread Eagle, Wis., Erv Pichalski, Mesa, Ariz.; numerous nieces and nephews. Besides his parents, Richard was preceded in death by a sister, Margaret Pichalski. Pallbearers will be Lloyd Hord, Larry Monosso, Bill Harvey, Mike Moroni, Harvey Johnson, Roger Scott, Tom Hower. His grandchildren will be honorary pallbearers. Joseph Gouin will officiate. Burial will be in Cemetery Park, Iron Mountain.
