Kingsford- Reta Grace Garbrecht, 80, of Kingsford, Mich., passed away Wednesday, July 8, 2020, at her home, surrounded by her family. She was born December 9, 1939, in Sault St. Marie, Mich., daughter of the late Fred and Violet (Chedister) Hodges. Reta married Ronald Garbrecht St. on February 18, 1958 at Central Methodist Church in Sault St. Marie, Michigan. He preceded her in death in November of 1992. In Reta's younger years she was a Certified Nursing Assistant while raising 6 children and later retired from Dickinson County Hospital where she was loved by all who knew her. Reta was a kind and loving mother and sister. She loved time spent at family gatherings, camping, float trips on the river, fishing, and the Green Bay Packers. Reta was a great person to be around and she truly enjoyed life, she was a dear soul and will be sorely missed by all. Survivors include her two sons, Charles Garbrecht, Iron Mountain, Mich., and Dan (Kelly) Garbrecht, Kingsford, Mich.; three daughters, Rebecca (Terry) Meinolf, Merriman, Mich., Debra (Joseph) Anderson, Norway, Mich., and Lori (Joe Maracini) Garbrecht, Iron Mountain, Mich.; one sister, Margaret "Tina" Swailes, Crystal Falls, Mich.; fifteen grandchildren, Charles Jr., Jason, Jamie, Miranda, Rhonda, Jessie, Steven, Levi, Katey, Lindsey, Ashley, Amanda, Kayla, Carissa, Daniel, Jr., and Matthew; and thirty great-grandchildren whom she loved dearly. In addition to her parents, and husband, Ronald, Reta was preceded in death by one son, Ronald Garbrecht Jr.; three brothers, Fred, George and Rod Hodges; and by one sister, Gertrude Hodges. Reta's spirit is carried on by her family and friends. In accordance with Reta's wishes, private family services will be held.
