Obituary

Rene Andre Gauthier, "Andre", 77, of Port Richey passed away on Sept. 11th while on vacation in Iron Mountain, MI. A graduate of Gulf High School in 1955, he was captain of the football and baseball teams, as well as student body president. He was a self employed Plumbing and Electrical Contractor and eventually went to work as a Building Inspector for Pasco County from where he retired in 1998. Andre served as an auxiliary policeman and volunteer fireman for the city of New Port Richey. He was a set builder for Stage West Community Theatre. He was an active member of The Elks, the Fraternal order of Eagles, and the Loyal order of Moose. He loved golf and was a member of the "Happy Hackers" golf league at Meadow Oaks Country Club. He served on the Board of Directors of the Timber Oaks Community. He is survived by three daughters: Renee Gauthier, Michelle Hageman, and Lycia Sanchez; seven grandchildren, three great-grandsons; two brothers: Joesph Gauthier and Raymond Gauthier; and one sister: Ninette Waizenhofer; and companion Lola Jacobs. In lieu of flowers the family is requesting donations be made to Salvation Army Domestic Violence Program: PO Box 5517 Hudson, FL 34674.
