Rena C. Karnack, 93, of Crystal Falls, passed away peacefully, surrounded by her family, on Saturday, June 14, 2014, at the Iron County Medical Care Facility Crystal Falls. She was born October 12, 1920, in Crystal Falls, daughter of the late Louis and Aurelia (Bianchi) Collicelli. Rena was a lifelong resident of Crystal Falls. She graduated from Crystal Falls High School, Class of 1940. Rena married Charles H. Karnack on January 20, 1945, at Guardian Angles Catholic Church, Crystal Falls; he preceded her in death in 1979. She worked part time at Hammerberg Drug Store until she retired at the age of 60. She was an active member of Guardian Angels Catholic Church where she taught CCD and also worked on the church guild. Rena enjoyed picking berries and wild mushrooms, cooking, gardening and especially spending time with her family, friends and grandchildren. Rena is survived by one son, Charles L. Karnack, Negaunee; one daughter, Jane M. (Harold) Hendrickson, Crystal Falls; one sister, Jamie Janov, Crystal Falls; four grandchildren, Denise Davidenko, Debbie Gonzalez, Justin Karnack and Caroline Collette; ten great-grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Rena was preceded in death by two sisters, Clementine Slade and Mary Sarvello and one grandson, Charles L. Karnack, Jr. Visitation will be Thursday, June 19, 2014, from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. at the Jacobs-Plowe Funeral Home, Crystal Falls. Prayers will be recited Thursday 10:30 a.m., at the funeral home. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday, 11:00 a.m. at Guardian Angels Catholic Church, Crystal Falls. Rev. Fr. Jeffrey Kurtz will officiate. Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery, Crystal Falls. Pallbearers will be Chuck Davidenko, Stephan Gonzalez, Ron Albiero, Bob Ahola, Bud Karnack and Justin Karnack.
