Kingsford:
Reed Joseph Richer, age 80, of Kingsford, passed away Thursday, April 06, 2006,
at the Veterans Administration Hospital, Iron Mountain.
He was born April 15, 1925, in Escanaba, Mich., son of the late Eldridge and Tecla (Heim) Richer. He married Isabelle Cousineau. She preceded him in death in January of 1981.
Reed was a Veteran of WWII having served in the United States Navy. For many years he owned and operated the Hide-a-Way Bar in Aurora, Wis. He was an avid golfer.
Survivors include, one step-son, Richard (Elaine) Meinecke, Florence, Wis; one daughter, Sandy Rosell, Kingsford; two brothers, James (Patricia) Richer, Sparta, Wis., Neil (Debra) Richer, Randville; two sisters, Gertrude Leslie, Norway, Annette Wasik, Racine, Wis.; two grandchildren, Michael and Nicole; three step-grandchildren, Debra, Carrie and Daniel; seven step- great grandchildren; and four step-great great grandchildren.
Besides his parents and wife Isabelle Richer, Reed was preceded in death by two sisters, Mary Ann Adamski and Patricia Curty.
Visitation will be Saturday, April 8, 2006, from 11:00 a.m. -1:00 p.m. at the Jacobs Funeral Home in Iron Mountain. Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Fr. Ray Valerio will officiate. Burial will be in Cemetery Park, Iron Mountain.
