Obituary

Niagara-Raymond A. Schultz, 79, of Niagara, Wis., passed away Saturday, May 20, 2017, at his home with his loving family by his side, wife Barb, special sister-in-law, Linda, and special friends, Joe and Jean, following many years of struggling with lung disease. He was born December 1, 1937, in Hermansville, Mich., son of the late Albert and Vivian (Midle) Schultz. Ray grew up and attended school in Hermansville. On September 27, 1958, he married Barbara Kmit at St. Anthony Catholic Church, Niagara. Ray worked as a forklift driver for many years at Grede Foundry. He was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church where he was an usher for 35 years. Ray was very active in Karen's Food Pantry and was a Third-Degree Knights of Columbus. He was known as "Niagara's Biker". Ray's hobbies included biking, hunting, fishing, and long walks with Barb. He often made wooden toys for the children for Christmas, enjoyed jigsaw puzzles and watching wrestling on television. Ray and Barb received the Honor of Mr. Niagara and First Lady. He, along with Mindy, received special recognition for being Badger fans. Ray is survived by his loving wife, Barb; one brother, James (Rose) Schultz, Texas; one granddaughter, Tori Schultz; one great-granddaughter, Avery Lee VanHulla; special sister-in-law, Linda Scott; three sisters-in-law, Rosie, Sharon and Barbara Schultz; and one brother-in-law, Jim (Linda) Kmit. In addition to his parents, Ray, was preceded in death by two sons, Dan and Steve Schultz; one grandson, Kevin Schultz; four brothers, Melvin, Leonard, Gerald and Norbert Schultz; and by two sisters, Anna Mae Noel and Arline Burgh. Visitation will be held Thursday, May 25, 2017, from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. at St. Anthony Catholic Church, Niagara, Wis. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 12:00 p.m. at the church. Rev. Fr. Matt Settle will officiate. Burial will take place in Niagara Cemetery. Ray will truly be missed by all who knew and loved him. He will always be remembered for his ever-loving smile. Rest in Peace, Ray.
