Crystal Falls: Raymond Salo, age 72, of Crystal Falls, died Saturday, December 4, 2004, at the Florence Villa in Florence, Wisconsin. He was born in Crystal Falls, MI, on September 24, 1932, the son of the late Evert and Mary (Jacobson) Salo. He graduated Crystal Falls High School in 1950. Raymond joined the US Army and served in Korea. After the service he moved to Mc Henry, Illinois. He married Marilyn Jordan in 1957. She preceded him in death. Raymond worked as a lineman for Asplund Tree Service until his retirement. He loved the outdoors and the Upper Peninsula. Survivors include two sons, Thomas (Robin) Giurlani of Mc Henry, IL and James (Susan) Salo of Arizona; two daughters Debra (John) Meyer of Mc Henry, Il, and Kathleen Salo of Crystal Falls; eleven grandchildren Kelly Engelbrecht, Jordan DiBlasi, Jacob Giurlani, Nick Giurlani, Tony Giurlani and Wesley Peterson all of Illinois, Jeremy Salo, Jack Salo and Carla Salo of Arizona, Nikos Kosmopoulos and Gina Kosmopoulos of Crystal Falls. Besides his parents and wife Marilyn, he was preceded in death by a son Lawrence Giurlani, two brothers Toivo and Waino Salo, and two sisters Ellen Vickers and Irene Salo. Visitation will be Wednesday, December 8th, 2004, from 3 - 7 p.m. at the Jacobs-Plowe Funeral Home of Crystal Falls. Funeral services will be Wednesday at 7:00p.m. at the Funeral Home. Rev.
