Raymond O. Chapman, 101, Niagara, Wis., died Saturday, November 17, 2007, at Maryhill Manor, Niagara.
He was born September 4, 1906, in Niagara, son of the late Albert and Katherine (Wellever) Chapman. In February 1952 at the Methodist Church in Norway he married Delores Towns. She preceded him in death on August 31, 1973.
Ray was a lifelong Niagara resident. He was a great outdoorsman, lumberjack and wood cutter who enjoyed the outdoors very much and was an avid hunter. Ray had also worked for Grede Foundries.
Survivors include, one son, Gary Chapman, Niagara, two daughters, Karolyn (Gary) Gardner, Sagola, Mich., Melody (Chuck Peterson) Chapman; eight grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his siblings, Ralph, Ben, Don and Ruth.
Visitation will be 12:00 p.m. to 1:00 p.m. Tuesday, November 20, 2007, at Riverside United Methodist Church, Niagara. Funeral services will be 1:00 p.m. Tuesday at the church. Rev. Patricia Herdt will officiate. Burial will be in the Niagara Cemetery.
