Crystal Falls-Ralph D. Walsted, age 70, of Crystal Falls, Mich., passed away Saturday, June 16, 2018, at the Oscar G. Johnson VA Medical Center, Iron Mountain, Mich.

He was born March 15, 1948, in Milwaukee, Wis., son of the late Ralph J. and Willa M. (Burrow) Walsted. Ralph grew up in Alpha, Mich., and graduated from Alpha High School, Class of 1967. Following high school, he enlisted in the United States Army until his honorable discharge in 1970. Ralph worked as a machinist for Grede Foundry in Iron Mountain until 2009, retiring after 35 years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, farming and his two dogs.

Survivors include one brother, Terry Walsted, Alpha, Mich.; one sister, Suzann (David) Hug, Little Suamico, Wis.; two nephews, Jason and John Lund; one niece, Nicole Lund; and by seven great-nieces and great-nephews.

A Military Graveside service will take place on Saturday, June 30, 2018, at 1:00 p.m. at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery, Crystal Falls, Mich.
