Phillip V. Nowicke, 77, of Florence, passed away Monday, December 26, 2011, at Dickinson County Healthcare System, Iron Mountain. He was born December 16, 1934, in Milwaukee, Wis., son of the late Phillip L. and Rose (Pandora)Nowicke. At a young age, Phillip moved to Florence where he resided on the family farm. He attended school in Florence and graduated from Florence High School. Phillip entered the United States Air Force from 1954 until being honorably discharged in 1958. When he returned from service, he moved to Milwaukee and worked for American Motors for ten years. In 1968, Phillip moved back to Florence and went to work on the family farm, where he has been working until the present time. He enjoyed many hobbies including hunting and fishing, working on the family farm, and spending time with family and friends. Phillip is survived by one brother, Robert Nowicke, Florence; one sister, Arletta Maass, Itasca, Ill.; two nephews and many cousins. Private family services were held.
