Peggy L. Hamby, 64, of Iron Mountain, passed away Tuesday, June 16, 2015, at Freeman Nursing and Rehabilitation Center, Kingsford.
She was born December 28, 1950, in Oak Park, Ill. daughter of the late Harold and Ruth (Johnson) Gustafson.
Peggy grew up in Lombard, Ill. and graduated from Wheaton North High School, Class of 1969. She married Randy Hamby on December 11, 1969, at Zion Lutheran Church, Metropolitan, Mich. They resided in Alaska until moving to Quinnesec, Mich. in the early 1980's. Peggy worked at Dickinson County Healthcare System, starting in 2001, in the Emergency Department and was presently employed in the Occupational Health Clinic as Service Representative.
She enjoyed studying Genealogy, reading and was a member of the Borderland Vegan's Group, where she enjoyed studying and visiting with her friends. Peggy was a very active member of Our Saviour's Lutheran Church, Iron Mountain. She especially enjoyed the time she spent with her granddaughter, Rhiannon.
Peggy is survived by one daughter, Kate (Rick) Bubloni, Kingsford; one brother, Jim (Alicia) Gustafson, Skokie, Ill; one granddaughter, Rhiannon Bubloni, Kingsford; two nephews, Carl Gustafson and Jamie (Cristina) Gustafson, both of Skokie, Ill.; one niece, Frieda (Aaron) Meier, Chicago, Ill.; one great-niece and five great-nephews.
Visitation will be held Friday, June 19, 2015, from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Our Saviour's Lutheran Church, Iron Mountain. Funeral Services will be Friday, 11:00 a.m. at the church. Rev. Lee Liverance will officiate. Burial will be in Felch Cemetery, Felch, Mich.
