Crystal Falls:
Pauline Chervo, age 89, a lifelong resident of the area, died Thursday, September 02, 2004, at the Iron County Community Hospital.
Pauline was born February 8, 1915, in Amasa, Michigan, the daughter of the late Frank and Maria (Rossi) Colombino. She attended Amasa School and graduated high school in 1933. On November 24, 1934, she married Peter Chervo in Crystal Falls. He preceded her in death on April 27, 2001. Pauline was a member of the Guardian Angels Catholic Church in Crystal Falls. She was also a member of the Altar Society and volunteered for many years at St. Vincent De Paul.
Survivors include one son Norman (Chris) Chervo of Adrian, Michigan, two daughters Adeline Chervo of Crystal Falls, and Gina (James) Gerwig of Anaheim, California, one brother Donald Colombino of Amasa three grandchildren, Christine Reed, Erik Gerwig, and Christopher Gerwig, four great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
Besides her parents and husband Peter, she was preceded in death by three brothers, Frank, Victor, and Albino and three sisters Edith, Rose and Lenore, and one grandson Peter Chervo.
Visitation will be Tuesday, September 7, 2004, from 9:30- 11:00a.m. at the Guardian Angels Catholic Church in Crystal Falls. The Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 11:00a.m. at the church. Fr. Dino Silvestrini will officiate. Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery.
