Paul R. Ranta, age 70, Florence, Wis., formerly of Crystal Falls, died Monday, March 26, 2007, at Dickinson County Hospital, Iron Mountain. He was born August 22, 1936, in Ohio, son of the late John and Almildia (Brooks) Ranta. Paul was a nursing aid and had worked at the Iron County Medical Care Facility, Crystal Falls. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, time spent with family and the great out-of-doors of the U.P. Survivors include, one daughter, Alina (Scott) Vincent, Iron Mountain; many brothers and sisters; many beloved grandchildren, great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends. Visitation will be held Saturday, March 31, 2007, 1:00 PM to 2:00 PM at the Our Saviors Lutheran Church, Iron Mountain. A memorial service will be held Saturday, 2 PM at the church. Pastor, Lori Liverance will officiate. Burial will be in the Evergreen Memorial Cemetery, Crystal Falls.
