Crystal Falls: Paul (Poul) Larsen, age 78, of Crystal Falls, Michigan, died July 21, 2004, at Iron County General Hospital in Iron River, MI. Paul was born in Denmark on August 10, 1925, the son of the late Hans Emil and Christina Mariee Larsen. He came to America in 1952, along with his wife Brita. She preceded him in death in May of 2003, after over fifty years of marriage. Paul was in the Danish Underground during WWII, and helped Jews escape to safety from the Nazi's. Survivors include one son John of Crystal Falls, two daughters; Betty (Dennis) Sepanik of Chicago and Cindy Merker of Chicago, five grandchildren and one great grandchild. Besides his wife Brita, Paul was preceded in death by two sisters Gudrin Aastrup and Elly Christianson. A Memorial service will be held in Chicago at Jefferson Park Lutheran Church at a later date.
