Jan. 10, 2003 Norrine Gigstead CRYSTAL FALLS — Norrine M. Gigstead, 76, of 136 Bridgeview, Crystal Falls, died Tuesday, Jan. 7, 2003, at Iron County General Hospital in Iron River. Norrine was born Sept. 8, 1926, in Alpha, daughter of the late Herman and Dagmar (Hansen) Schindler. She grew up in Alpha and attended Alpha High School. She married Earl Gigstead on April 23, 1955, in Panama City, Fla. Norrine attended Augustana School of Nursing in Chicago, where she received her degree as a registered nurse (RN). She worked many years at both the Crystal Falls Hospital and the Iron County Medical Care Facility as an RN. Norrine was a member of Christ United Methodist Church in Crystal Falls. She is survived by her husband, Earl; a daughter, Peggy (John) Kukura of Crystal Falls; a brother, Darryl Schindler of California, and a sister, Muriel (Marvin) Hicks of Kingsford. Norrine was preceded in death by two sisters, Marie Bendick and Evelyn Smokevitch. Visitation will be from 2:30 p.m. to 3 p.m. Sunday at the Jacobs-Plowe Funeral Home in Crystal Falls. Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Pastor Elbert Dulworth will officiate.
