Crystal Falls- Naomi A. Ropiak, 85, of Crystal Falls, Michigan, passed away Sunday, May 18, 2025, at the Iron County Medical Care Facility, Crystal Falls, Michigan.

She was born May 12, 1940, in Crystal Falls, daughter of the late Eugene and Geraldine (DeMuri) Dove. Naomi grew up and attended school in Crystal Falls. She went on to graduate from Northern Michigan University in 1986 with a degree in Elementary and Special Education. Naomi then received her master's degree in Learning Disabilities. She taught in Bessmer, Michigan, for 17 years.

Naomi married Melvyn Ropiak on March 5, 1960, and they had two children together, Joseph and Kim. Melvyn preceded her in death in 2001.

Naomi loved spending time with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She also loved teaching, going on outings with her family, picking berries, fishing, and gardening. Naomi was also a member of Guardian Angels Catholic Church in Crystal Falls.

Survivors include her children, Joseph (Kristy) Ropiak and Kim (William) Verhoven), as well as seven grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, one great great-grandchild.

In addition to her parents, Naomi was preceded in death by her sister Marlene West (Dove) and brother Ronald Dove.

The Funeral Mass will be held on Tuesday, May 27, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Guardian Angels Catholic Church. Rev. Fr. Daniel Dapaah will officiate. The burial will take place at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery in Crystal Falls.
