Iron Mountain – Nancy R. McKendrick, 84, of Iron Mountain, MI, passed away on Wednesday, April 1, 2026, at Freeman Nursing and Rehab, Kingsford, MI.

She was born on April 12, 1941, in East Detroit, MI, to the late Arthur Holbrook and Ida (Pangrazzi) Holbrook.

She was a graduate of East Detroit High School, class of 1957. She obtained her nursing degree from Bay de Noc in Escanaba, MI, and worked for a number of years as an LPN at Oscar G. Johnson VA Medical Center prior to retirement in 2003.

Nancy enjoying crocheting, gardening, feeding the hummingbirds, being a part of the paint club – Le Artiste, basket weaving, camping in summer, and most importantly being with family.

She is survived by her sons, David (Susan Forest) McKendrick, and Daniel McKendrick; sister, Judy Jefferies; granddaughter, Celia McKendrick; great-grandchildren, Manny McKendrick, and Ellis McKendrick; special niece, Jane (Maria Olsen) Jefferies; and numerous nieces, and nephews.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her daughter, Suzanne McKendrick; and brother, Thomas Holbrook.
