Obituary

Nancy Ann Francisco, 45, of Crystal Falls, passed away peacefully on Monday, April 5, 2010, after a 15-month battle with brain cancer. She was born January 21, 1965, in Crystal Falls, the third child of Malcolm and Marilyn (Zdravecky) McNeil. She graduated from Forest Park High School, Class of 1983, and from Northern Michigan University Class of 1988, as a Registered Nurse. She was well known in the community for her work at the hospitals in both Crystal Falls and Iron River, her many friendships and fun-loving personality, and her dedication to her three children: Amanda, Mindy, and Jacob DeNell. In January 2001, Nancy and her three kids moved to Parker, Colo., after she accepted a position as a Systems Analyst for Kaiser Permanente. On August 6, 2005, she married Bob Francisco, of Crystal Falls, in a beautiful backyard wedding ceremony at their home in Colorado. The couple and Nancy's children lived in Colorado until they moved back to Crystal Falls in August 2009, to be closer to family. Nancy's faith in God kept her strong throughout her life and especially during her illness. She is remembered fondly as a Christian, a caring wife and mother, sister, grandma, aunt, friend, and co-worker. She loved golfing, singing, dancing, sushi, dark chocolate, fresh fruit, good times with friends, the Colorado Mountains, the beauty of nature – and mostly, she loved her husband and her family. Nancy is survived by her husband, Bob Francisco; five children, Amanda DeNell, Mindy DeNell, Jacob DeNell, Lee (Adrian) Francisco, Kerry (Amy) Francisco; her father, Malcolm McNeil; two sisters, Susan (David) Lehto, Diane (Rob) Emo; one brother, Scott McNeil; four grandchildren, Braeden, Bryce, Izzabelle, Bailey; eight nieces and nephews, Leighann, Alex, Tony, Brian, James, Daniel, Matthew, Danielle. She was preceded in death by her mother, Marilyn McNeil on October 8, 2009. Nancy's joyful smile, generous heart, sense of humor, willingness to help others, and ability to spark fun in any situation will be greatly missed . . . Until we meet again.
