Iron Mountain: Myrtle Erickson, age 93, of Iron Mountain, passed away Sunday, January 9, 2005, at Hyland Nursing Home in Iron Mountain. She was born December 3, 1911, in Norway, Michigan, the daughter of the late Fritz and Lydia Forsten. She married Edgar W. Erickson in 1931 in Iron Mountain. He preceded her in death in 1978. They resided in Iron Mountain and Sagola and moved back to Iron Mountain in 1972. Myrtle enjoyed gardening, flowers, fishing and her family. Survivors include a son Douglas (Evelyn) Erickson of Spread Eagle, four grandchildren Tanya (Mark) Fischer of Green Bay, Elyse (Ernest) Karam of San Antonio, Texas, Tammy (Norman) Goris of Nashville, Indiana, and William (Wanda) Erickson of Cedarburg, WI, and twelve great grandchildren. Besides her parents and husband Edgar, she was preceded in death by three brothers Arvid Forsten,and two infant brothers, two sisters Esther Sturman and Ellen Chartier. Visitation will be Thursday, January 13, 2005, 10 - 11a.m. at the Jacobs Funeral Home in Iron Mountain. Funeral services will be Thursday at 11:00a.m. at the Jacobs Funeral Home. Celebrant Robert Fuse will officiate. Burial will be in Cemetery Park in Iron Mountain.
