Mildred "Millie" Loppnow, 85, of Florence, Wis., passed away Thursday, November 25, 2010, at Golden Living Center, Florence.
She was born on September 9, 1925, in Wisconsin Rapids, Wis., daughter of the late Mary Olson and the late Carl Zeaman. Millie married Carl Loppnow on June 7, 1948, in Milwaukee, Wis. They resided in Milwaukee until retirement, moving to Florence where they later became owners of the Keyes Lake Sport Shop.
Millie had worked many years at Easy Painter in Milwaukee until retirement. She enjoyed sewing, gardening, volunteer work, life on Keyes Lake, and was an active member of St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Florence.
She is survived by her husband, Carl Loppnow; her son, John (Julie) Loppnow of Hortonville, Wis.; three grandchildren, Christa (Kevin) McGinnity of Blue Mounds, Wis., Matthew (Jayme) Loppnow of Ewa Beach, Hawaii, and Kellie (Christian) Hill of Black Creek, Wis.; two great-grandchildren, Jackson Loppnow of Ewa Beach, Hawaii, and Samuel McGinnity of Blue Mounds, Wis.; several nieces and nephews.
Millie was preceded in death by two stepsisters, Lucille Zastrow and Arlene Schubert.
Visitation will be held on Tuesday, November 30, 2010, from 9:30 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at St. John's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Florence. The funeral service will be 11:00 a.m. Tuesday at the Church. Rev. Paul Meitner will officiate. Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Florence.
