Obituary

Mildred DeCarlo, 90, of Fairborn, Ohio, formerly of Iron Mountain, Mich., passed away Thursday, September 13, 2007, at Mercy Medical Center, Springfield, Ohio. She was born December 18, 1916, in Iron Mountain, daughter of the late Nicholas and Rosaline (Santini) Pietrantonio. She married the late Peter DeCarlo, November 14, 1936, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Iron Mountain. Mildred was a long time resident of Iron Mountain until moving to Ohio in 1998, to be with her son, daughter and family. She was a member of St. Mary & St. Joseph Catholic Church and Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Mildred was also a member of the Daughters of Isabella. She is survived by one son, Louis DeCarlo, Fairborn; one daughter, Mary Ann (Wayne) DeCarlo Hill, Springboro, Ohio; five grandchildren, Daniel (Cyndi) DeCarlo, Springfield, Ohio, Debra (Glen) Pritchett, Dallas, Tex., Tricia (Jason) Wilke, Goodyear, Ariz., Joe (Shelly) Anderson, Clarkston, Mich., Michael (Courtney) Anderson, Surprise, Ariz.; two step-grandchildren, Amy Hill, Manistique, Mich., Juliegh (Eric) Bookout, Detroit, Mich.; four great-grandchildren, Anthony and Jacklyn DeCarlo, Bryson Wilke, Jaden Anderson; five step great-grandchildren, Ashley Fortner, Savannah and Logan Hayward, Emmalyn Braun, Jackson Bookout; two sisters-in-law, Eleanor Barkle, Veronica (Bob) Nault, both of Iron Mountain; many nieces and nephews. Besides her parents and husband, Peter, Mildred was preceded in death by one grandson, David DeCarlo; two brothers, Mario and Frank Pietrantonio; two sisters, Jennie Cerasoli and Carmella Lerza. Visitation will be Monday, September 17, 2007, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at the Jacobs Funeral Home, Iron Mountain. Prayers will be offered, 9:30 am Tuesday, September 18, 2007, at the funeral home. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated 10:00 am Tuesday at St. Mary & St. Joseph Catholic Church, Iron Mountain. Fr. Dan Zaloga will officiate. Burial will be in Cemetery Park, Iron Mountain. Pallbearers will be five of Mildred's grandchildren, Daniel DeCarlo, Joe Anderson, Michael Anderson, Jason Wilke, Glen Pritchett, and one nephew, Nick Pietrantonio.
