Michael J. Mitchem, 48, of Aurora, passed away Tuesday, April 2, 2013, at his home. He was born April 19, 1964, in Iron Mountain, son of Charles and Sandra (Charette) Mitchem. Mike loved his pets, nature, and the outdoors and was an accomplished deer hunter. He enjoyed watching NASCAR, chatting with friends on Facebook, and spending time with his family and friends. He is survived by his wife, Jane Mitchem, Aurora; his father and mother, Charles and Sandra Mitchem, Holiday, Fla., formerly of Kingsford; one sister, Michelle "Missy" (Phil) Kairis, Minneapolis, Minn.; his close aunts and uncles, Denny and Drema Charette, Iron Mountain, and Sharon and Bill Rocheleau, Iron Mountain; mother-in-law, Riva Cowell, Iron Mountain; father-in-law, Richard Abbot, Sr., Saginaw; two sisters-in-law, Jennifer (Dan Westcott) Abbott, Escondido, Calif.; Julie (Terry) Kirk, Carbondale, Colo.; one brother-in-law, Rich (Jessie) Abbott, Greencastle, Ind.; special friends, Mike Pavlat, Joe and Mike Plourde; many other aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
