Iron Mountain- Michael J. "Mike" Migazzi, 79, of Iron Mountain, Mich., passed away peacefully Sunday, November 3, 2024.
He was born December 21, 1944, in Iron River, Mich., son of the late Walter D. and Julia V. (Berti) Migazzi. Mike grew up in Caspian and was a graduate of Stambaugh High School, class of 1963. He went on to receive his Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering from Michigan Tech. in 1968.
Mike worked as a Civil Engineer across the U.P. including many years with UP Engineers. He married Judith Adair on March 3, 1979. She preceded him in death on November 5, 2021. Mike was a lifelong outdoorsman and enjoyed hunting and fishing year-round and instilled that joy in his son. Faith was an important part of his life, and he devoutly attended mass at St Mary and St Joseph's church on Sunday morning.
Survivors include his sons, Derek (Lisa) Migazzi and Mike Perry; one daughter, Christine (Michael) Waltz; four grandchildren, Jacob (Meghan) and Andy Brouillette and Liliana and Lachlan Migazzi.
Visitation will be from 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m., on Saturday, November 30, 2024, at Jacobs Funeral Home, Iron Mountain, Mich. Prayers will be recited at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home. A Memorial Mass will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m., on Saturday, November 30, 2024, at St. Mary Queen of Peace Catholic Church, Kingsford, Mich with Rev. Fr. Michael Woempner officiating. Burial will be in the spring at Stambaugh Cemetery, Iron River, Mich.
