Crystal Falls- Michael F. Green, 68, of Crystal Falls, Mich., passed away Wednesday, April 1, 2020, at his home. He was born May 22, 1951, in Carson City, Mich., son of the late Fred C. and Jean (Hammond) Green. Michael grew up in St. Johns and graduated from St. Johns High School, class of 1969. He went on to attend Northwoods University where he received his associates degree in business management. On December 20, 1969, in St. Johns, Mich., he was united in marriage to Kathleen "Kate" Powers. Michael worked as a sergeant for the Michigan Department of Corrections for 23 years and was a member of Faith Fellowship Bible Church. He enjoyed competitive shooting, hunting, fishing, watching football and baseball, and especially the time he spent with his family and friends. Survivors include his wife, Kate Green, Crystal Falls, Mich.; one son, James (Patti) Green, Crystal Falls, Mich.; one brother, Charles (Ann) Green, St. Johns, Mich.; five grandchildren, Brittany, James Michael, Justin Thomas, Erika, and Elyssa; and by two great-grandchildren, Levi and Sadie. In accordance with Michael's wishes, private family services will be held. Burial will take place in Pine River Cemetery in Merrill, Wis.
