Iron Mountain: Melia Whitford age 89 of Iron Mountain died Wednesday October 2, 2002 at the Florence Villa Nursing Home in Florence, Wisconsin. Melia was born on October 30, 1912 in Iron Mountain daughter of the late Rondanino and Nicoletta (Palumbo) Pasquantonio. Melia grew up in Iron Mountain. She married Owen Whitford on November 19, 1936. He preceded her in death in 1991. Melia along with her husband moved to Milwaukee in 1952. She worked at West Allis Memorial Hospital until she retired in 1974. Melia moved back to Iron Mountain in January of 1993. Melia is survived by; Two daughters; Gail (Wayne) Lindholm of Peoria, AZ. Shirley (Nick) Stathopoulos of Bloomington, MN. One sister Ora Rasmussen of Milwaukee, WI., Three Grandchildren; Randy (Susan) Lindholm of CA., Scott (Debbie) Lindholm of Novi, MI., Mark (Mindy) Stothopoulos of Plymouth, MN. Five great grandchildren; Nicole, Michael, Billy, Jamie, and Adam Lindholm. One sister in law Mildred Pasquantoni of Kingsford. Many Nieces and Nephews. Preceded by; Two brothers; Marsino and Aldo Pasquantoni. One sister Elsie Pelot. Private family visitation and services were held at the Jacobs Funeral Home in Iron Mountain. Burial will be in Cemetery Park in Iron Mountain. The Jacobs Funeral Home of Iron Mountain is serving the family.
