Mearle W. Rolkosky, 77, of Florence, passed away peacefully, Saturday, April 14, 2007, at Dickinson County Memorial Hospital, Iron Mountain. He was born October 31, 1929, in Marinette, Wis., son of the late Isodor and Mabel (Behnke) Rolkosky. He lived in Green Bay, Wis., for most of his childhood. He has resided on Lake Emily in Florence County for the past 20 years. Mearle married Virginia Goulette in 1952, they enjoyed 55 years together. He served in the Marine Corp and was a member of the Operatory Engineers. Mearle enjoyed hunting, fishing, and coaching girls softball. Beside his wife, Virginia, Mearle is survived by one daughter, Christine; two grandchildren, Tyler and Hanna Lindsay; one great-granddaughter, Morgen Miller; one brother, Kenneth (Harriet) Rolkosky; and one sister, Sylvia (William) Ackermann. Visitation will be Saturday, April 21, 2007, from 10:30 AM to 11:30 AM, at Jacobs-Lundholm Funeral Home, Florence. A memorial service will be Saturday, 11:30 AM at the funeral home.
