Obituary

Maycel M. Sweig, 89, of Niagara, passed away Saturday, October 3, 2015, at Maryhill Manor in Niagara. She was born July 12, 1926, in Pembine, Wis. daughter of the late Chester and Margaret (Rogers) Wilson. Maycel grew up in Pembine and graduated from Pembine High School, Class of 1943. She married Clarence Sweig on September 28, 1946, in Pembine; he preceded her in death on February 16, 2001. Maycel was a homemaker for 22 years before going to work at the Niagara Post Office where she worked for 20 years, retiring in 1988. She was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church, St. Anthony Council of Catholic Women, and a lifetime member of Weight Watchers. Maycel enjoyed reading, bingo, bowling, camping, Bible Study, and spending time with her children, grand-children and great-grandchildren. Maycel is survived by two sons, Terry (Cheryl) Sweig, Niagara and Rick (Roxi) Sweig, Ellsworth, Wis.; three daughters, Peggy(John) Kinziger, Webster, Wis., Laurie (Bob Henkleman) Vassar, Niagara and Karen Novak (friend Jesse Cartwright), Niagara; two brothers, Merlin (Delores) Wilson, Wheaton, Ill. and Mike (Sharon) Wilson, Niagara; one sister, Myrtle Olson, Loomis, Calif.; grandchildren, Michael (Lisa) Sweig, Tammy (Bill) Tripp, David (Heather) Sweig, Brian (Aundrea) Kinziger, Doug (Colleen) Kinziger, Travis (Jamie) Vassar, Trevor (Jennie) Vassar, Tara (Cody) Kampe, Renada, Ross and Rochelle Sweig, Ryan (Aubrey) Novak, Nick and Josh Novak and 24 great-grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, Clarence, she was preceded in death by two infant children, Mary and Robert; one sister, Betty O'Connor and brothers-in-law, Bob Olson and Bill O'Connor. Visitation will be held Thursday, October 8, 2015, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at St. Anthony Catholic Church, Niagara. St. Anthony Council of Catholic Women will offer prayers at the church. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Thursday, 11:00 a.m. at the church. Rev. Fr. Matt Settle will officiate. Burial will be in Niagara Cemetery, Niagara. The family would like to thank the staff at Maryhill Manor for the care mom received the last four years. The family has chosen the Jacobs Funeral Home, Niagara to honor Maycel's Legacy of Life.
