Obituary

Iron Mountain- Maxine "Chickie" M. Maracini, 93, lifelong resident of Iron Mountain, Mich., passed away Tuesday, December 8, 2020, at Dickinson County Healthcare System, Iron Mountain, Mich. She was born August 9, 1927, in Iron Mountain, daughter of the late Elmer and Elizabeth (Wilson) Knutson. Chickie was a graduate of Kingsford High School, class of 1946. She was united in marriage to Roy Maracini on October 21, 1950. He preceded her in death in June of 2002. Chickie worked for the Wisconsin/Michigan Power Company in her younger years. She was a very spiritual person and attended the Lutheran church while growing up. Her family was very special to her, and she cherished the time she spent with them. Chickie enjoyed travel, shopping, knitting, golfing, volunteering for St. Vincent De Paul, and her many cats and dogs she had over the years. Survivors include two sons, Steven (Robin) Maracini, Crystal Falls, Mich., and Andy (Dr. Patricia) Maracini, Appleton, Wis.; one daughter, Lisa Forsberg, Iron Mountain, Mich.; one brother, Jon (Mary) Knutson, Albuquerque, New Mexico; six grandchildren, Laura ( Dr. Christopher), Philip, Andrea (Austin), Isla, Alan, and Ginette; and numerous nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents and husband, Roy, Chickie was preceded in death by one sister, Carol Swanson. In accordance with Chickie's wishes, private family services will be held. Rev.Jim Danielson will officiate. Burial will take place in Cemetery Park, Iron Mountain, MI.
