Maxine A. Henry, 71, of Crystal Falls, passed away Sunday, February 28, 2016, at Aspirus-Iron River Hospital, Iron River, Mich.
She was born July 25, 1944, in Menominee, Mich., daughter of Howard and Adeline (Mabie) Berger.
Maxine grew up in Carney, Mich., and later moved to Columbus, Wis., where she graduated from Church High School. She attended Pacific Union College in Angwin, Calif., where she received a Bachelor's Degree in Religious Studies. Maxine then attended classes at the University of North Dakota, Oregon State University and also Atlantic Union College, South Lancaster, Mass., where she received her Certificate in Elementary Education.She married Raymond Henry on November 7, 1965, in Carson City, Nevada. They resided near Escanaba, Mich. and moved to Crystal Falls in 1990. Maxine was an elementary school teacher in Crystal Falls from 1990, until she retired in 2010.
She enjoyed quilting, sewing, kayaking, and playing the piano. Maxine will be missed by her many friends and loving family.
Maxine is survived by her loving husband of fifty years, Raymond; three sons, John (Manuela) Henry, Kaymen, Germany, Joseph (Karen) Henry, Broomfield, Col. and Josh Henry, Crystal Falls; one daughter, Kristen (Joseph) DeBeasi, Los Angeles, Calif.; her father, Howard Berger, Wilson, Mich.; three sisters, Charlotte Moon, Wilson, Mich., Aileen (Dave) King, Columbus, Wis., and Margie (Bill) Ketler, Phoenix, Ariz.; four grandchildren, numerous nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Adeline Berger.
In accordance with Maxine's wishes, private family services were held.
The family has chosen the Jacobs-Plowe Funeral Home, Crystal Falls to honor Maxine's Legacy of Life.
