Iron Mountain: Maxine M. Gothe age 76 of 1037 Hoadley Avenue, Kingsford, Michigan died Tuesday June 24, 2003 at Dickinson County Memorial Hospital in Iron Mountain. Maxine was born on February 17, 1927 in Iron Mountain daughter of the late Lawrence and Freda (Klatt) Sleik. Maxine was a lifelong resident of the area and 1945 graduate of Iron Mountain high School. She married Robert Gothe on April 27, 1947 at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Iron Mountain. Maxine along with her husband Bob have resided in Kingsford, and have been members of the American Martyrs Catholic Church. She was an active American Legion Post 363 of Kingsford Auxillary member. Maxine enjoyed many hobbies including; reading, gardening, cooking and will for ever be remembered as a great grandmother. She is survived by her husband of 56yrs Bob. One daughter Patricia (Don) Kauppila of Marquette, MI., Five brothers, Douglas (Gloria) Sleik of Iron Mountain, MI., Donald (Margaret) Sleik of Naperville, IL., Oliver (Ardith) Paternoster of Sussex, WI., Norman Paternoster of Iron Mountain, MI., Terry (Dee) Paternoster of Boise, Idaho. Two sisters Sandra (Charles) Macy of Breitung Twp., Sharon (Hans) Strom of Hubertus, WI., One sister in law Martha Mae Sleik of York, PA., Two grandchildren Kirsti (John) Way Jr. of Brentwood, CA. Zachary (Michelle) Kauppila of Jackson, MI. Preceded by two brother, Wayne Paternoster and Lawrence Sleik. Private family visitation and services were held. Burial will be in Cemetery Park in Iron Mountain with Fr. Joseph Gouin officiating.
