Maryann (Costa) Santini, passed away peacefully Saturday, February 6, 2010, at home. She was born June 5, 1933, in Iron Mountain, daughter of the late Mike and Mary (Vespa) Costa. Maryann grew up in Iron Mountain and graduated from Iron Mountain High School, Class of 1952. She married Frank "Fluff" Santini on July 9, 1953, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, Iron Mountain, they celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary in 2003. Fluff preceded her in death on August 16, 2005. Maryann worked at General Controls, Kingsford, and Red Owl Supermarket, but spent most of her career as secretary of the Local Laborer's Union AFL-CIO No. 1329, retiring after 30 years of service. She was a member of Immaculate Conception Church, the Paisano Club, and the Red Hat Society in Arizona. Maryann's biggest love was her family and her granddaughter, Jenna. She loved to shop, go out with her dear girl friends, work out at Curves, and laugh. Maryann was always ready to have a good time, especially on Friday nights, out with the girls. Everyone who knew her, loved her. She also loved to spend her winters in Casa Grande, Arizona, and had many, many dear friends there. Since Fluff passed away, Maryann took care of the yard and helped her son Steve raise an amazing crop of tomatoes. She also was in charge of checking the wine barrels daily during wine making time. Fluff would have been proud. Maryann is survived by her son Steve (Nancy) Santini, and their children, Jason and Jenna; her daughter Paula (Albert) Santoni, and their children, Mario and Anthony; a sister, Arlene (Americo) Altobelli; and many special nieces and nephews.
