Obituary

MaryAnn Kirkpatrick, 73, Crystal Falls, went home to be with her Lord, Saturday, August 22, 2009, at Northstar Health System, Iron River, after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born October 4, 1935, in Milwaukee, Wis., daughter of the late Andrew J. and Gladys O. (Halverson) Hoffman. On November 7, 1959, at the Methodist Church in Medford, Wis., she married Richard L. Kirkpatrick. MaryAnn moved to Medford with her parents at age 11. After high school graduation, she moved back to Milwaukee where she worked and met Richard. She then became a stay at home mom and raised five children. After retirement they moved to Crystal Falls. MaryAnn enjoyed sewing, crocheting, making quilts (quilting) with her friends the 'Piecemakers" at United Lutheran Church in Crystal Falls. She especially loved coloring with her grandchildren and great-grandchild. MaryAnn was an active member of Christ United Methodist Church, Crystal Falls, where she and Richard faithfully set-up communion every month. Survivors include, her husband of 49 years, Richard L. Kirkpatrick, Crystal Falls, one daughter, Laurie Richter, Waukesha, Wis., four sons, Kerry (Sara) Kirkpatrick, Iron River, David (Theresa) Kirkpatrick, Muskego, Wis., Scott (Janell) Kirkpatrick, Little Suamico, Wis., Andy (Alissa) Kirkpatrick, Green Bay, Wis.; nine grandchildren (and baby "K" on the way), one great-grandchild; two sisters, Rita Kawa, Medford, Pat Kresha, Brighton, Colorado; other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, one infant brother, and one sister, Audrey Thompson. Visitation will be 9:30 a.m. until 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, August 26, 2009, at Christ United Methodist Church, Crystal Falls. Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at the church. Rev. Stephen Rhoades will officiate. Burial will be in Resthaven Cemetery, Iron River.
