Mary Anne Westin, 64, of Mokena, Ill., formerly of Crystal Falls, Mich., passed away Friday May 9, 2008, in Mokena. She was born August 12, 1943, in Binghampton, N.Y., daughter of Robert and Pauline (Anderson) Martin. Mary Anne was a retired special education teacher for the Hazel Crest School District, Illinois. She was an active member of the Marley Community Church, a volunteer at the Cancer Support Center, Homewood, Ill., and enjoyed sewing, needlepoint, cooking, gardening and travel. Survivors include her husband Glenn Westin, Mokena, two sons, Eric (Yazmin) Westin, Peter (Tammy) Westin; grandchildren, Eli, Levi, Isabel and David; mother Pauline Martin; two brothers, Robert (Skippy) Martin and Donald (Debbie) Martin. Visitation Monday May 12, 2008, from 9:00 a.m. until 12:00 Noon, with services at 12:00 Noon, Vandenberg Funeral Home 19604 S. Wolf Rd., Mokena. Graveside service, Friday, May 16, 2008, 10:00 AM, Evergreen Memorial Cemetery, Crystal Falls. Rev. Michael Rucinski will preside at the committal service. In lieu of flowers the family directs memorials to the Cancer Support Center, Homewood, Illinois. The Jacobs-Plowe Funeral Home, Crystal Falls, is serving the family locally.
