Mary J. Wayne, 89. was called to her heavenly home on Friday June 21st at Bethal Home, Oshkosh, WI where she resided since 2010, previously of Iron Mountain MI where she lived most of her married life. Mary had moved to Oshkosh area to be closer to her daughter. She was born October 23, 1923 in Muskegon, Mich., daughter of the late Michael and Caroline (Grizzaffi) Portincasa. Mary graduated from Iron Mountain High School, Class of 1975. She married Robert Wayne on November 24, 1956 at St. Mary and Joseph Catholic Church, Iron Mountain. He preceded her in death March 13, 1999. Mary worked as a proof reader at Wittock Supply for 22 years, retiring in 1993. She enjoyed reading, cooking, traveling, bingo and especially spending time with her grandchildren. She was an active member of St Mary and St Joseph Catholic Church. She is survived by one son, Michael (Judy) Wayne, Mesquite, Texas; one daughter, Patricia (John) Robertson, Oshkosh, WI; one brother, Tony (Inga) Portincasa, Muskegon; and grandchildren Johnny, Stephanie and Phillip Robertson and Theodore (Petty Officer 3rd Class USN) and Neil Wayne. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers, Nick, Louis, Dominic and Benny Portincasa, and sister Jean Isaacs. The visitation will be Thursday, June 27, 2013, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary and St. Joseph Catholic Church, Iron Mountain. The Memorial Mass will be celebrated 11:00 a.m., Thursday at the church. Rev. Fr. Daniel Zaloga will officiate. Burial will be in Cemetery Park, Iron Mountain.
