Iron Mountain:
Mary T. Smithena age 89, formerly of Iron Mountain, passed away Friday October 28, 2005, in Middleton, Wisconsin.
She was born on April 2, 1916, in Iron Mountain, daughter of the late Peter and Maria (Ozzello) Alexander. She married Elmer Smithena on July 24, 1937, and he preceded her in death on November 7, 1997.
Mary was a lifelong resident, and attended school in Iron Mountain. She was employed at Kresges for many years. Mary enjoyed gardening and going for walks. She has resided in Middleton for the past seven years to be near her daughters. While in Iron Mountain she was an active member of the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church.
Mary is survived by, two daughters; Joyce (Jim) Quackenbush from Middleton, Wis. and Cheryl (Reuben) Reddeman of Cross Plains, Wis., one brother Robert (Margaret) Alexander of Pontiac, Mich., three grandchildren; Dr. Jim (Kris) Quackenbush, Todd (Pam) Reddeman, and Tammy (Mike) Strang, two great grandchildren; Alex Quackenbush and Brianna Reddeman, and three nieces Rena, Marilyn and Joyce.
Besides her parents and husband Elmer, Mary was preceded by, two brothers, John and Peter Alexander, and a granddaughter Mary Kelly Quackenbush.
Visitation will be Tuesday November 1, 2005, from 11:30a.m. until 12:30p.m. at the Jacobs Funeral Home in Iron Mountain. Prayers will be recited Tuesday 12:30p.m. at the Jacobs Funeral Home. The Funeral Mass will be Tuesday 1:00p.m. at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church. Msgr. James Kaczmarek will officiate. Burial will be in Cemetery Park in Iron Mountain.
