Mary H. (Whaley) Shivy, 71, of Iron Mountain, passed away, Saturday, August 2, 2008, at her home. She was born December 18, 1936, in Canton, Ohio, daughter of the late Frank and Agnes Majszak. Mary was raised in Traverse City, Mich. and moved to Iron Mountain in 1965, where she worked at the Dickinson Inn until it closed. Her passions were gardening and cooking. Mary is survived by four sons, Kevin Whaley, Iron Mountain, Keith Whaley, Minneapolis, Minn., Chris Whaley, Kingsford, Kelley Whaley, New Boston, Mich.; three daughters, Ann (Miguel) Rodriguez, Grand Rapids, Mich., Lisa (Jim) Bellmore, Norway, Michelle Shivy, Madison, Wis.; three brothers, Robert and Frank , Traverse City, John, Billings, Wyo.; one sister, Susan Constant, Belmont, Mich.; six grandchildren, Brian and Jessica Bellmore, Brandon and Kyle Rodriguez, Paige and Thomas Whaley; best friend and companion, Jerry Sobolewski Sr. Mary was preceded in death by two brothers, Dick and Wayne.
