Iron Mountain:
Mary Clara Pucci, age 99, of Iron Mountain, passed away July 3, 2006, at ManorCare Health Services in Kingsford.
She was born June 12, 1907, in Iron Mountain, daughter of the late Angelo and Virginia (Montonati) Balzarini. Mary was a lifelong resident of Iron Mountain. She married Marino "Muzz" Pucci on October 14, 1944, in Sagola. He preceded her in death August 22, 2001.
Mary worked for the old General Hospital for 38 years. She was a member of St. Mary and St. Joseph Catholic Church. Mary, along with her husband, established the Marino and Mary Pucci Scholarship Fund at Iron Mountain High School. This scholarship has been awarded annually for over 20 years to students pursuing a degree in the health field.
Survivors include eight nephews, Charles ( Marie) Balzarini, Arizona, David (Janet) Balzarini, Vancouver, British Columbia, Donald (Carol) Balzarini, Arizona, Jon Balzarini of Iron Mountain, Donald (Carol) Paoletti, Waukesha, Wis., Robert (Isabelle) Paoletti, Breitung Township, Louis "Chooch" (Joan) Pucci, Iron Mountain, and Ted (Sharon) Pucci, Kingsford; and two nieces, Dena (Steve) Martin , Randville, and Jacqueline (Carl) Lemin, Kingsford. She is also survived by two sisters-in-law, Marilyn Balzarini and Olympia Balzarini, both of Iron Mountain, and many grand nephews and nieces.
Besides her parents and husband Marino, Mary was preceded in death by one sister, Theresa Paoletti and four brothers, Joseph, Angelo, Charles and Frank Balzarini.
Visitation will be Friday, July 7, 2006, from 9:30 – 10:30 a.m. at the Jacobs Funeral Home. Prayers will be recited at 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home. The Funeral Mass will be at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary and St. Joseph Catholic Church in Iron Mountain. Fr. Dan Zaloga will officiate. Burial will be in Cemetery Park.
Pallbearers will be David Balzarini, Donald Baravetto, Donald Paoletti, Robert Paoletti, Louis Pucci and Ted Pucci.
