Mary M. Paulsen, 85, Crystal Falls, died Tuesday, December 11, 2007, at Iron County Community Hospital, Iron River. She was born November 21, 1922, in Crystal Falls, daughter of the late Dominic and Angeline (Ferrero) Carlotto. She married Curtis Paulsen on November 17, 1945. He preceded her in death on February 20, 1979. Mary was a life-member of the VFW Post No. 2891 Auxiliary, Crystal Falls. She enjoyed the company of friends for lunch and her home and family, especially her grandchildren. Survivors include, two daughters, Rosemary (Hanibal) Guerra, Hondo, Tex., Catherine (Cathy) Ann (Duane) Lortie, Crystal Falls; one son, Carl (Marie) Paulsen, Crystal Falls; three grandchildren, John (Char) Lortie, Annie (David) Ponchaud, Niki (Leon) Schiavo; one step-grandchild, Mark Nowicki; six great-grandchildren, Anna and Andee Lortie, Robert and Morgan Ponchaud, Liam and Layne Schiavo; six step great-grandchildren, Sarah Hagglund, Megan and Matt Sundquist, Kiera Schiavo, Melody and Katelyn Nowicki. She was preceded in death by one sister, Catherine "Cutta" Carlotto; five brothers, John, Anthony, Beppo Carlotto, and killed in action during WW II, Albert and Bruno Carlotto. Visitation will be 12:00 p.m. to 1:30 p.m., Friday, December 14, 2007, at Jacobs-Plowe Funeral Home, Crystal Falls. Prayers will be rendered 1:30 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated 2:00 p.m. Friday at Guardian Angels Catholic Church, Crystal Falls. Rev. Dino Silvestrini will officiate. Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery, Crystal Falls. Pallbearers include, Jim Zaupa, Bernie Kosiba, Mike Harrington, Chucky Sartori, Emil Bicigo, Mike Onderak.
