Mary Panfil, 89, of Florence, Wis., passed away Wednesday, March 18, 2009, at Dickinson County Memorial Hospital, Iron Mountain.
She was born May 17, 1919 in Milwaukee, Wis. daughter of the late Thomas and Maria (Letiza) Valenza. She married Edward Panfil on November 11, 1944 in Milwaukee, where they resided. Edward preceded her in death in 1994. Mary resided in Milwaukee until 1997 when she moved to Spread Eagle, Wis. She enjoyed crocheting and visiting with family and friends.
Mary is survived by Judy (Larry) Zabel, Spread Eagle; three grandchildren, Rob (Dawn) Zabel, Sun Prairie, Wis., Jay Zabel, Whitewater, Wis., Jo Ann (Wade) Herman, Oconomowoc, Wis.; four great grandchildren, Zachary James Zabel, Misty Dawn Zabel, Kristin Day Klein, Jeremiah (Lacey) Castel; and one great great granddaughter, Meicaila Lynn Castel.
She was preceded by two brothers, Vincent and Anthony Valenza and four sisters, Annie Guliani, Grace Wagner, Angie Barkovich, and Rose Nordquest.
