Crystal Falls: Mary St. Onge, age 78, of Lake Mary, Crystal Falls, passed away in Dallas, Texas, on Saturday, February 28, 2004. Mary was born on November 18, 1925, in Crystal Falls, Michigan, daughter of the late Jack and Ida (Mannisto) Shemky. She grew up here and graduated from Crystal Falls High School Class of 1943, then went to college at Northern Michigan. After college she married Ray St. Onge, on June 18, 1948. Then they moved to Detroit where they worked, lived, and raised a family of six. After living in Detroit from 1951 to 1981, they returned to Crystal Falls and lived at Lake Mary. She continued to live here after her husband, Ray, passed away in 1991. She was very active in the VFW Women's Auxiliary, St. Vincent DePaul, and the Guardian Angels Ladies Guild. She was a member of the Guardian Angels Catholic Church. Mary is survived by her sons; Raymond of Thompsonville, MI, Gerald(Paulette) of Redford. MI, John (Cheryl) of Melvendale, MI, two daughters; Wilma (Dusty Conley) St. Onge of Mascotah, IL, and Sharon (Robert) St. Onge-Denton of Dallas, TX, and one brother Robert Shemky. Along with her parents and husband Ray, she was preceded in death by one son William, and one brother Joe Shemky. Visitation will be Thursday, March 4, 2004, from 5:00 - 8:00P.M. at the Jacobs-Plowe Funeral Home of Crystal Falls. There will be a Rosary at 7:30P.M. The Mass of Christian Burial will be Friday, March 5, 2004, at 11:00A.M. at the Guardian Angels Catholic Church. Father Raymond Zeugner will officiate. Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery in Crystal Falls in the Spring.
