Obituary

Mary Lou (DeDecker) Lupini, 70, of Iron Mountain, Mich., passed away Friday, June 15, 2007, at her home following a courageous battle with ALS (Lou Gehrig's Disease). She was born September, 1, 1936, in Norway, Mich., daughter of the late John and Lucille (Poquette) DeDecker. She married Robert Lupini on May 11, 1957, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Norway. Mary Lou worked at Dickinson County Hospital for 30 years. She was a member of St. Mary Catholic Church, Norway, hospice volunteer, and Northside vision 2020. She enjoyed singing in the church choir, gardening, feeding the birds, ceramics, and loved collecting mice. She is survived by her four sons, Mike (Janet) Lupini, Littleton, Colo., Steven (Heidi) Lupini, Kensington, Conn., John (Renee) Lupini, Iron Mountain, Robert (Lynn) Lupini, Battle Creek, Mich.; 12 grandchildren, Emily Lupini, Allison and Christopher Peters, all of Littleton, Casey and Taylor Lupini, Kensington, Kyle and Ryan Lupini, and Ken Bednarz, all of Iron Mountain, Ian Bednarz, Green Bay, Wis., Jaymie Bednarz, Marquette, Mich., Tony and Chloe Lupini, Battle Creek, Mich.; a special aunt, Caroline DeDecker, Norway; and a special nephew, Ken Lindstrom, Iron Mountain. Mary Lou was preceded in death by her parents and husband, Robert. The family would like to extend a special thank you to Renee Lupini for all her help through a most difficult time, to her close friends, Barb Broullire, Louise Fontecchio, Carol McCarty, and Lynn Wiethoff, all of Iron Mountain, also to DICSA, Loving Caring Hands, Marquette Home Healthcare Hospice, Dr. Barry Johnson, and Dr. Douglas Villa for all their help, support, and love. Visitation will be Monday, June 18, 2007, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM, at Jacobs Funeral Home, Iron Mountain. Prayers will be recited Monday, 6:30 PM, and also Tuesday, June 19, 9:30 AM, at the funeral home. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated Tuesday, 10:00 AM, at St. Mary Catholic Church, Norway. Fr. Mark McQuesten will officiate. Burial will be in Norway Township Cemetery.
