Crystal Falls-Mary M. Kubicsko (Cavasin), age 97, of Crystal Falls, Mich., joined her beloved husband John, as she was called home to eternal rest on Friday, July 13, 2018, at Iron County Medical Care Facility, Crystal Falls, Mich.

She was born on June 12, 1921, in Crystal Falls, the daughter of the late Mrs. Ortensia Cavasin. Mary was united in marriage to John Kubicsko on July 25, 1953, in Alpha, Mich. He preceded her in death in 1982. Together they had twin daughters, Mary Anne and Beverly. In her younger days Mary was a member of the VFW Auxiliary, and had made many lunches for the post meetings. Mary belonged to Guardian Angels Catholic Church and was proud to be part of the choir in her later years. She also enjoyed taking day trips with her lady friend to see the lighthouses in Upper Michigan and Northern Wisconsin. Mary enjoyed cooking and always made good Italian dinners on the holidays for her family, which was her priority. Because Mary lost her mother at an early age she was very close to her mother-in-law, Julia, whom she loved very much and spent many hours with.

She is survived by twin daughters, Mary Anne (Jim) Myler, Green Bay, Wis. and Beverly (Lee) Maigatter, Kewaunee, Wis.; one grandson, John Manuel (Meaghan) Maigatter, Maryland; and Mary became a great-grandmother to Landon on January 18, 2018.

In addition to her parents, Mary was preceded in death by five brothers, Bert, Victor, Etalo, Bruno, and Alfred (otherwise known as Cherry) Cavasin.

The twins would like to thank the staff at the Iron County Medical Care Facility where she resided for the past 12 years. Special thank you's to Alice Martwick, Rose Bortolini, Mary Takala and Peggy Krisman for their love and concern.

Visitation will be held Tuesday, July 17, 2018, from 9:30 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. at Jacobs-Plowe Funeral Home, Crystal Falls, Mich. Prayers will be recited Tuesday, 10:30 a.m. at the funeral home. A Funeral Mass will be held Tuesday, 11:00 a.m. at Guardian Angels Catholic Church, Crystal Falls. Rev. Fr. Dan Malone will officiate. Burial will be in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery, Crystal Falls, Mich.
