Iron Mountain: Mary Ann Khoury age 87, of Iron Mountain passed away Saturday, April 1, 2006 at Hyland Nursing Home in Iron Mountain. Mary was born August 13, 1918 in Hermansville, Mich., daughter of the late Nicholas and Lucille (Kobe) Perla originally from Zagreb, Yugoslavia (now Croatia). She married Harry Khoury on February 16, 1939 in Iron Mountain. He preceded her in death on November 30, 1989. They resided in Detroit for a few years following their marriage. In the summer of 1989 they observed their 50th wedding anniversary. Mary was a member of the St. Mary & St. Joseph Catholic Church, Pine Grove Country Club, Chippewa Club and Iron Mountain Elks Lodge and Lady Elks. She enjoyed many activities including; golfing, spending time with friends and going to camp with her family. Mary loved her family dearly and cherished the time she spent with her daughters, grandchildren and her husband Harry. She is survived by three daughters, Susan Khoury of Iron Mountain, Mich. Sandy Khoury of San Jose, California and Bonnie Khoury of Houghton, Mich. two brothers, John (Mary Ann) Perla of Iron Mountain, Mich. and Peter Perla of Boynton Beach, Fla., two grandchildren, Laila (Jerry) Raether of Cave Creek, Ariz., Ruth Ann Bennett of Los Angeles, CA. Besides her parents and husband, Harry Mary was preceded in death by three brothers, Nicholas, Frank and Joseph Perla., two sisters, Anna Rodman and Fannie Gianunzio. Visitation will be Friday, April 7, 2006 from 9:30a.m. to 11:00a.m. at the Jacobs Funeral Home in Iron Mountain. Funeral services will be Friday 11:00a.m. at the funeral home. Fr. Dan Zaloga will offiate. Burial will be in Cemetery Park in Iron Mountain.
