Obituary

Mary F. Hanley, 76, of Iron Mountain, Mich., passed away Monday, January 19, 2009, at Dickinson County Memorial Hospital, Iron Mountain. She was born July 2, 1932, in Fort Sheridan, Ill., daughter of the late Victor and Bertice (Holmes) Kotlowski. Mary moved to Milwaukee, Wis. at a young age and graduated from Girls Tech. in Milwaukee. She married David Hanley on February 16, 1952, in Waukegan, Ill. Mary and David lived in Milwaukee until 1958. They lived in Iron River, Mich., California, Stambaugh, Mich., and Niagara, Wis., before moving to Iron Mountain in 1977. She was a Nurses Aide at Dickinson County Memorial Hospital for 16 years, retiring in 1994. Mary enjoyed camping, baking, cooking, sewing, Super Bowl parties, shopping, gardening, and especially enjoyed spending time with her family. She is survived by her husband, David, Iron Mountain; four sons, Scott (Barb) Hanley, Florida, Shaughn Hanley, Green Bay, Wis., Shane Hanley, Norway, Tim (Chris) Hanley, Iron Mountain; six daughters, Sheri (John) Jaramillo, Kittitas, Wash., Lena (Bob) Seppala, Iron Mountain, Bonnie (Brian) Pionke, Milwaukee, Karen (Bill) Kaczmarowski, Manitowoc, Wis., Robin (Bill) Ritchie, Portage, Mich., Valerie (David) Carpenter, Iron Mountain; 21 grandchildren, Johnny, Traci, Shelly, Reya, Shena, Jamie, Steven, Jessica, Kelly, Adam, Celeste, Ryan, Michelle, Aimee, Kaitlyn, Heather, Marissa, Izzy, Jake, Andy, Alex; and many great-grandchildren. Visitation will be Thursday, January 22, 2009, from 1:00p.m. to 3:00 p.m. at Jacobs Funeral Home, Iron Mountain. The funeral service will be Thursday, 3:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Celebrant Pete Carli will officiate. Burial will be in Cemetery Park, Iron Mountain.
